Thanks Mr Harland,

Sir, you made English fun, you inspired us to think out the square, to be free thinkers, to believe that there is no wrong answer, you showed us that even though we were a low decile school that we could achieve just as much if not better than those who went to a private school. You taught me about being part of a team and community, even though at the time I am sure I would have thought your ideas were crazy. I am sure you have no idea how your warm, friendly and real life attitude to teaching helped me to learn. I often recall our lesson regarding diosyncrasies. By now I bet you are old and grey, your bushwacker jumper tatty and torn (much like us all) but I hope you still continue to teach and inspire. Yours faithfully “a very forthright young woman”
