Thanks Mr Tony Timms,

Mana College

“Mr Timms” – thank you! Your style – your combination of knowledge, teaching skills and discipline (not to mention humour) – made me realise that the only thing that would hold me back was my willingness to work. Our paths might have diverged in one sense – you becoming Gen. Sec. of the Labour Party and me an aspiring National Party candidate – but I remain ever grateful for having had you as my teacher. Best wishes.

Thanks Miss Ryan,

Thank you for introducing me to so many great writers and for telling me that if they are boring now one day they won’t be. You were right. I remember you as a lovely caring, intelligent and tolerant person and for this I am extremely grateful.

Thanks Mr Aldred,

Mana College

You took me from a previous teacher’s comments “he’ll never pass School C math” to an A grade. Even more you made maths interesting. I didn’t realise it at the time, but your best teaching of all was probably “don’t listen to what other people say you can’t do.” Extremely lucky to have had you as a teacher and have never forgotten the difference you made. Thank you!
